With the sprouting of preachers, pastors and priests calling themselves holy, most holy and reverend, knowing who is who is very hard to distinguish. This was prophesied in the scriptures, warning us "the next generation" before hand.
Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
We have the saying that the fish can be catch by the mouth, the same with preachers, pastors and priests. They are caught by the mouth even without knowing their works in secret.
John 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
Proverbs 26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Our basis of faith is written down for us, that our faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Logically, any rituals or religious customs not written are from man's invention and definitely not from God.
Psalm 102:18 This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.
Hearing great wonders and marvelous things from anyone to strengthen our faith which are not written, that man is speaking of himself, therefore, he is not the man of God.
Galatians 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
thanks for the reminder, sometimes its easy to think of ones self first
ReplyDeleteIt was prophesied too, Adam.
ReplyDelete2 Timothy 3:2-4 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
Thanks for the comment.
