Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Mostly, people do things perfectly on the outside.
Luke 11:39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.
The evil treasures of the heart are hidden in disguise of doing something good only pleasing to the eyes of man.
Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Luke 11:42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Justice, mercy, faith, love of God are treasures that comes from the heart of a good man.
The question is, when can a man be made clean?
Luke 11:41 But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.
Firstly, his soul will be made rich.
Proverbs 11:25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Secondly, his righteousness endures forever.
2 Corinthians 9:9 As it is written: “ He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
Thirdly, he will bear more fruits.
John 15:2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Lastly, it covers a multitude of sins.
James 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Let's bring out the best in you - I mean the good treasure in your heart that brings forth good.
Beautiful.
