An estimated 7,000 languages are being spoken around the world but in the beginning the whole earth had one language and one speech.Genesis 11:6-8 And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
Thus the confusion is the result of not following God.
Genesis 9:1 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
The commandment is to fill the earth but instead, they build a tower for themselves to see so they won't be scattered over the whole earth.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.
The City built is called the tower of Babel. Imagine the other parts of the earth where there is no man. If Noah and his sons are commanded to be fruitful and multiply and so with the beast, cattle & everything that creeps. Generally, beasts or animals multiply past than humans so man will be outnumbered by then.
Now I know why there are 7,000 confusing languages. God knows best after all.
