What I know about idolatry is the praising and kneeling on images made by hands of men. It is only now that I know, stubbornness is also a form of idolatry.
1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.
Stubborn is often perversely unyielding. They stumble at the word of the LORD. Being disobedient they will reject even the precious stone that will give them the way to everlasting life.
1 Peter 2:7-8 Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
If Jesus will speak to us again, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life, who will take this as an offending word?
