One characteristic of an Apostle in preaching the gospel is the taking of nothing from anyone who is not a member of their congregation.
1 John 1:7 because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
Meaning, they will preach the gospel of Christ for free.
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
I am sure, all of us will surrender all that we have in exchange of a miracle. But the word of God is not for sale.
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.
Remember those religious claimants singing songs of praise using megaphone in the market, streets or inside the bus preaching "the gospel of Christ"? They ask for your money in the name of God.
For Church members, yes, they have an obligation to share.
Galatians 6:6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Take note of the phrase "taught the word" of God. Except those who act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.
2 Timothy 3:7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
They have attended Bible studies, always, but never learned.
Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
But if you are the wise who understand, this will be your basis for sharing a portion of the money you have earned.
1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.
2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
What's the money for? When you take nothing from the unbelievers, You will need the money to bring them back.
Luke 15:7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
I must admit, this one will make me think for a while.
